Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Great goals, great entertainment   July 12, 2008
Michael Hollerup (Denmark)
To honour the 125th anniversary of one of England's best known football clubs, a collection of 125 great goals has been culled from the last 50 years of TV broadcasting. We follow Tottenham Hotspur from the FA Cup finals in the early 1960s through the Cup Winners Cup victory over Athletico Madrid in 1963 and the famous match against Manchester United in 1965 until the present day. We see great goals from Greaves, Chivers, Perryman, Hoddle, Archibald, Roberts, Villa, Ardiles, Gazza, Klinsmann, Keane, Defoe and Berbatov to name a few.

There are many quality goals here and I can recommend all fans of football to enjoy this DVD as we count down from 125 to 1, wondering which goal has been chosen to be the best. I will not reveal this here.

The only complaint I have is that the best goal, in my opinion, is not on the DVD. I'm thinking about Graham Roberts's 35 yard strike against FC Brugge in a 3 - 0 victory in the 1984/85 UEFA Cup campaign. In the same match Mike Hazard scored another amazing goal and in the 1983/84 UEFA Cup campaign, Mark Falco scored a fabulous and important goal against Bayern Munich. These goals are also conspicuously absent from the collection. But this is a minor objection compared to the overall quality of the football we see on the DVD.
