5 out of 5 stars Fun for a 13 year old   December 28, 2008
Travelling Nanna (GB)
I bought this as a Christmas present for my 13 year old nephew. Not one to read instructions first, it took him about 4 goes to make it take off!! Older brother (21) couldn't wait to have a go and the rest of the family followed. Not sure about durability as haven't had it long enough. One small grump, Couldn't find anywhere where it states that 6 AA batteries are needed. Luckily we had some around. Highly recommended.

THE REVIEWER
This toy really s great fun. While some say it only goes left e.t.c you can 'trim' it to get rid of the problem. By turning clockwise or anticolockwise you can increase or decrease the speed. Not only that, but it is so durable that I had to step on it (by mistake) to break it; and that only broke the tail stick thing (not propellor) which meant that it just flies in circles. A really freat buy!

This toy is great fun for all the family. Our dog even thinks its great as he chases it about the place. It takes a little while to perfect the knack of fine control, but once you get it - its a bit like riding a bike - then its all easy after that.
At this price, its not much more than a few bags of sweets but the pleasure lasts a lot longer. Great fun.

Fascinating little toy

I was looking of ideas for presents for Christmas when I put toys and games into the search engine.

The helicopter came up I remember being fascinated by them when Peter Jones was doing his Entrepreneur programmes as the winner was a bloke who was importing helicopters and remote control cars from China and selling them on a market stall.

They looked good as technology has come on in leaps and bounds.

Boys love remote control cars and I remember in the 1950s having a Volkswagen on a wire and loved it. Technology did not advance very much as they were still on a wire twenty years later.

Now we can fly little planes indoors. I read the reviews as I didn't know anyone who had one. Apart from the odd rogue review they were all complimentary and at the price I thought I can't go too far wrong.

I wanted one for my son and son in law who are in their late twenties early thirties. My partner then wanted a couple for her nephew an nephew in law who are the same age.I ended up buying four

The nephew phoned us on Christmas day to say he was his in law and they ad X boxes Wiis etc but everyone wanted to play with the helicopter that cost under 15. the nephew in law had the other round my house.

It took a bit of time to get it charged and work out the the technicalities but after a bit of experience he was having it hovering round the room as did his partner. they are beautiful little planes and endlessly fascinating.

It has been the hit of this Christmas and now I am worried now that I will not be able to get as interesting a present next year. I will have to start researching it now so I have got a good twelve months in hand.

A gem of a find and I only wish I had one wan I was steering that little Volkswagen on a wire the 1950s. Kids today they don't know they're born.!!
