I think Berbatov is definitely off! By what I see his attitude stinks at the moment! Bringing the team down, so as hard as it is, I hope we get a good replacement for him!

Keane on the other hand, I think is in a 50/50 limbo state!! If he gets to hear the spurs fans singing for him, he really could stay. But I have a sneaky suspision (maybe its the pesimist in me) that he will go.

I think it will be, not taking into account any future signings, first game of the season will be;

Gomes

Hutton, Woodgate, King, Bale

Huddlestone, Jenas

Lennon, Modric, Dos Santos

Bent

I reckon Robbo, Berbatov and Keane are off, so bench would look;

Janssen, Dawson, O'hara, Zokora, Taarabt, Pekhart, Keane

I personally hope this doesn't happen! I really couldn't see what the big hype was about him. He had 1 or 2 impressive matches at Euro2008, but I had not heard of him before that!

Plus his attitude looks all wrong to me!!

Spurs move for Arshavin

Zenit St Petersburg have claimed Tottenham have made an enquiry for in-demand star Andrei Arshavin.

Arshavin is being chased by a host of top clubs following his stellar performances for Russia at Euro 2008.

The classy playmaker has his heart set on a move away from Zenit with the likes of Barcelona, Chelsea and Arsenal all credited with an interest in Arshavin.

Tottenham are now reported to have joined the hunt for Arshavin, who claims he is being priced out of a move by Zenit's asking price.

Zenit official Konstantin Sarsaniya claims Tottenham have made a move for Arshavin.

"With Tottenham we have contacts," Sarsaniya told the Russian press.

"This English club is really interested in acquiring Andrei but, as I understand, �27million (�21.5million) is too high a price for them.

"For Spurs it is unacceptable. Tottenham are ready to pay in the region of �20million (�15.9million) for Arshavin."

Sarsaniya, however, denied speculation linking Manchester City with a move for 27-year-old Arshavin.

"I have not heard of their interest," added Sarsaniya.

Robbo or Gomez

Back 4 look prety solid to me - however I still think King has alot of problems with his knee and it flairs up after every game. I would have like to see a CB brought in preseason to take Kings place and have King on the bench.

Spurs quartet set for Sunderland

Sunderland boss Roy Keane has revealed he is hoping to conclude the signings of four Tottenham players this week.

Reports suggest Spurs quartet Steed Malbranque, Younes Kaboul, Teemu Tainio and Pascal Chimbonda have been targeted by the Black Cats in a deal worth �23m.

And Keane told the club website: "We've worked hard and everyone knows I spoke to players this weekend. It went well.

"There are still one or two loose ends to be tied up at the Spurs end but hopefully it won't drag on too long."

The former Republic of Ireland and Manchester United midfielder added: "I'd like a few positive decisions over the next couple of days but I have to say I was very impressed with the four players when I met them and we look forward to the news over the next few days.

"I have to say the club has made some very good offers and fingers crossed we get across the finishing line."

It was revealed on Tuesday that France under-21 midfielder Kaboul, who has also been linked with Portsmouth, is expected to make a decision over the club's offer in the next 24 hours after holding talks with Keane on Saturday.

"Younes was very impressed with Roy Keane when he met him, especially with his vision for Sunderland Football Club," said his agent Rudy Raba.

"He was also very impressed with the city, stadium and facilities which, to be fair, are second to none."

Defender Chimbonda confirmed over the weekend that he is keen to leave White Hart Lane for Sunderland.

The 29-year-old, who arrived at Spurs from Wigan in a �4.5m deal in 2006, said: "I travelled to meet Keane on Saturday at Sunderland's training ground. I was extremely impressed with what he had to say.

"Keane's honesty and openness really were fantastic and I particularly like the plans he has for Sunderland. The opportunity excites me and I hope he was impressed with what I had to say."

Former Fulham midfielder Malbranque also joined Spurs in 2006, defender Kaboul arrived from Auxerre in 2007 and midfielder Tainio was signed from the same French club in 2005.

Sunderland reached an agreement with Tottenham on Thursday that gave them permission to speak to the quartet.

we have so meny players at tottenham u can pick 3 teams and still be better than most teams in the prem so wot 11 would u use and wot formation would you play

Yeah, I think Pekhart is trying to push as well. However Bostock has featured in both games so far, and by the sounds of it, impressed the club, but I expect Bostock, if he plays, to play in 1 or 2 cup games.

If Berbatov goes (yeah I'm resigning myself to it) then I would love to see Huntelaar replace him. Very much doubt it, but he is the one I would love to see do it!

Taarabt's featured in both our pre-season friendly's so far I think. He looks like he's done well too.. think he'll be trying to break into the main squad this year

Utd confident over Berbatov

Ferguson has been tracking Berbatov for some time
Sir Alex Ferguson expects to prise striker Dimitar Berbatov from Tottenham by the end of the summer.

Reports have suggested the Manchester United boss has made a �22m bid for the 27-year-old but that Spurs want more.

"We have made Tottenham an offer on Berbatov and we have good expectations that this deal will go through," Ferguson told The Sun newspaper.

"Berbatov has been impressive for a long time and he would be a great addition to our attack."

Barcelona have also shown an interest in the Bulgarian following the exit of Ronaldinho to AC Milan and with Samuel Eto'o also set to leave but Ferguson is happy to bide his time over a player who scored 23 goals for Tottenham last season.

Speaking at the start of the club's pre-season tour of South Africa, the Scot said: "I think time will work for us more than against us.

"We will not stress this situation. We are hoping to have a constructive conversation with Tottenham in the near future."
